Lara Napodano, DMD

A native of Charlotte, Dr. Lara Napodano attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Her postdoctoral training included both a General Practice Residency and an Oral Medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center (Atrium Health) in Charlotte. She continues to practice and teach general dentistry to residents in the operating room (OR) setting.

Dr. Napodano practices Oral Medicine. Dentists that are trained in Oral Medicine evaluate and non-surgically manage a variety of conditions of the mouth including mucosal diseases, orofacial pain, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ/TMD), dry mouth and salivary gland disorders. Ulcers/canker sores, thrush, oral lichen planus, atypical facial pain/atypical odontalgia, trigeminal neuralgia, TMJ/TMD, clenching/grinding/bruxism, and lesions related to tobacco use are just a few examples of conditions that are diagnosed and managed by dentists trained in Oral Medicine.
