Oral Surgery in South Charlotte & Albemarle NC

Experienced & Board-Certifed Oral Surgeons

Southeast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates is one of the oldest practices in the region. Founded by Dr. Edward Austin more than fifty years ago, our practice has provided professional services to the Charlotte Metro Area during the ensuing decades. We specialize in extractions including wisdom teeth removal, reconstructive jaw surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, dental implants and the treatment of pathological lesions of the oral and maxillofacial region.

While maintaining a consistent reputation for excellent care and service, the SOMS practice has grown and now has two convenient locations – one in Charlotte, NC and one in Albemarle, NC. Our offices are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment. We use the latest 3D imaging technology to diagnose and plan implant placement, surgical procedures, and tooth extractions. Our imaging equipment allows for optimal examination of oral pathologies, and third molar evaluation. We have comprehensive visual tools to demonstrate and explain procedures and assist you through the post-op process. We will make sure your diagnosis and understanding of the procedures are clear and concise and follow through with the best care after your procedure is complete.

Please note we also participate with multiple dental plans for your convenience!

Dental Implant Restorations

Learn more

Dental implants replace lost teeth that function, feel, and look like natural teeth. We place dental implants using local or general sedation to ensure comfort for our patients. We proudly use an in-house 3-D printer where we craft custom surgical splints; this technology ensures exact placement of dental implants for an optimal outcome.

With a dental implant, you can regain your ability to eat basically anything as well as speak and laugh with ease! Call us today for a consultation.

Wisdom Teeth

Learn more

We understand that wisdom teeth removal can cause anxiety for patients and their families; please do not hesitate to come to us with your questions and concerns – we are here to listen!

If your child is between the ages of 17 and 25, this is the best time to discuss your options for removal, when the teeth and their roots are still developing. Schedule a consultation with us to have your child’s wisdom teeth evaluated!

Corrective Jaw Surgery

If your top and bottom jaws don’t align correctly or if your teeth do not adequately fit within your jaw, you may need corrective jaw surgery. This common, straightforward procedure not only improves facial appearance but also ensures that your teeth line up and function properly.

If you have difficulties with chewing, biting, swallowing, speech, chronic jaw or TMJ pain, please call us today for a consultation!
