Originally from the Kitsap peninsula in Washington State, Dr. Brian Tallent earned his undergraduate degree from Western Washington University and a D.D.S. from New York University School of Dentistry where he received several awards including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons dental student award for outstanding achievement and performance in undergraduate oral surgery.  After completing an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at UCLA medical center in Los Angeles, Dr. Tallent earned his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia where he was selected as administrative chief resident.

While at Emory Dr. Tallent fell in love with the weather and people of the south and decided to settle down in the Charlotte area with his wife Jamie and two children, Asher and Linnea.  Dr. Tallent has special interests in the areas of computer based orthognathic and reconstructive surgical planning, trauma, and complex bone grafting for dental implant surgery.

Dr. Tallent is volunteer Faculty at Atrium, teaching in the General Dental Practice residency and Oral Medicine residency programs.  He thoroughly enjoys working with the residents and teaching quality patient care.
